How the pixels to inches converter works
The converter divides each pixel edge by the PPI value you enter. Because PPI is part of the answer, the same image can convert to very different inch sizes.

Choose 72 or 96 PPI for screen references and 150 or 300 PPI for print work, or type any value from 1 to 2400.

Which PPI should you type into the converter?
The converter is exact; the PPI you feed it is the variable. Match it to the output instead of always using the same number.
72–96 PPI
Use a screen reference when comparing CSS pixels, mockups or on-screen layouts rather than a print target.
150 PPI
A practical middle value for posters and displays viewed from a distance, where fine detail matters less.
300 PPI
The common target for photo, artwork and text prints inspected at normal reading distance.

Converter questions
What does a pixels to inches converter do?
It divides a pixel dimension by PPI. 3000 pixels at 300 PPI is 10 inches; the same 3000 pixels at 150 PPI is 20 inches.
Is the converter free and private?

Why do the same pixels give different inches?
Because PPI changes the physical size of each pixel. 1080 pixels is 11.25 inches at 96 PPI but 3.6 inches at 300 PPI.
